For maybe a month or two, Boston FD has been operating "Tobin Engine 1". If I remember the story correctly, MassPort started to repaint the bridge. Then it was discovered that the fire water lines were no good. So BFD ordered a fulltime detail for the bridge. I think the OT was at $500,000 the last time that I heard. Tobin Engine 1 has been heard on Channel 1, but they might be using a Tac (direct) channel also.
