more rail tracks at South Station

commuter rail to New Bedford and Fall River

Green Line to Medford

=================

Just thinking out loud - I wonder if they could run a commuter shuttle
train from Boston to West Medford - inbound stops at Tufts University,
Ball Square in Somerville, maybe at OBrien Highway in Somerville, then
North Station - they could probably run one train and have service
every 15 minutes - or maybe 2 trains with service every 7 minutes -
but you would have to squeeze the freight traffic and other commuter
rail traffic around them - that would save $1B in construction costs
for the Green Line extension
