Professor from Univ of FL said that homes can be beefed up for $5K - metal straps to hold wall plate to studs - better nails - more hurricane tie down straps - he seems to feel that way too much damage is occurring to homes in hurricanes and tornados due to lax construction techniques and requirements - same problems IDed back in 1971
