Just thinking out loud about Massachusetts Massachusetts fire radio systems
Berkshire County and Hampshire County - all VHF hi Franklin County - all UHF Hampden County and Worcester County - mixture of VHF low, VHF hi, UHF, and 800 Essex County - UHF and VHF hi Middlesex County - 90% UHF - some 800 & VHF hi Suffolk County and Norfolk County and Bristol County - all UHF Plymouth County - all UHF plus Brockton on VHF hi Barnstable County - 800 Mhz TRS (part of Statewide State Police TRS) (Maybe 75% of ambulances in Mass operate on FD channels) Is this a big deal? Maybe it is. Maybe if all of the radio systems were in the same band, then there could more likely be countywide dispatch systems, with better mutual aid, with AVL, etc. Maybe dispatch and response times would drop by 25%. Could save hundreds of lives and millions in property losses each year. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "massfire" group.
