Berkshire County Massachusetts main fire dispatch channel is 154.31 the dispatcher transmits the pager tones once (without any pre alert) dispatcher then announces the call verbally - giving the agencies - the location - and the type of incident the dispatcher then reannounces the call verbally a 2nd time I think I recently read that they have recently activated a synchronized simulcast system. This would jive with the dispatch message / pager activation format / protocol that is being heard. (Note - no specific stations or vehicles are mentioned in the dispatch - no cross streets are given - no hydrant locations or water supply locations are given) I am pretty sure that none of the agencies have on call dispatchers nor do they staff any local radio base stations. All "field unit to dispatcher" comms flow thru the county dispatcher for the entire duration of incidents apparently. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "massfire" group.
