The difference between Level 1 and Level 2 seems to be that Level 2 does not have pediatric, internal medicine, and plastic surgeons. Level 3 might have surgeons on call vs Level 1 and Level 2 have surgeons inhouse 24/7 I wonder how that really works. If you have a small hospital with just 1 "trauma" surgeon - what does he/she/it do when there are no trauma patients? Mow the grass?
