The Massachusetts Statewide TRS has 3 groups of special talkgroups. The " Local Public Safety " Talkgroups (1 thru 10) seem to serve as dispatcher to dispatcher channels for various regions in Massachusetts. The LPS talkgroups are in the 36000 range. (There might be 2 LPS talkgroups in each region - 1 for dispatcher to dispatcher messages - and 1 for field units to dispatcher messages). Perhaps the correct terminology is that these are "interagency talkgroups". The LPS TGs might be available to any and all public safety agencys.
The "Special Ops / SOPs " talkgroups (1 thru 8) are in the 33000 range. These talkgroups might be available just to Mass State Police units or just to Law Enforcement agencies (including the US Coast Guard and MA Marine (Enviro / DNR / whatever) Police). The " Events " or " Special Events " talkgroups (1 thru 8) are in the 32000 range. All public safety agencies might have access to the Events TGs. Possibly just the LPS talkgroups are regularly monitored by a dispatcher on a fulltime basis. Presumbably the usage of all Events talkgroups and all SOPs talkgroups must be cleared thru MSP HQ before use. To recap - LPS are for talking to dispatchers - SOPs are for police - Events are for everyone Do I have that right? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "massfire" group.
