The toxic combination leads to the horrors that pollute our times These macho monsters put such emphasis on 'respect' when, in fact, they respect nothing but their inflated egos. A naked coed was not enough. She would pay with her life for whatever minor infraction inflamed the killer. Whether Remy's kid, Hernandez, the California virgin, the goateed anti-swinger swinger,. or the Cantabrigian Chechan's, these villains all felt disrespected enough to kill innocent people in the name of their endless egos---absurd slights that a normal person would manage respectfully, these fiends kill over. In a culture where we romanticize war; accept the plague of teen motherhood as entertainment, and the styling of prostitutes and pimps is held as a desired standard, we should hardly be surprised when a story such as this one emerges.
