I saw a recent comment that the NWS has done recent upgrades to their
radar, and they really no longer need storm chasers to go out and
chase tornadoes. Apparently the upgrade allows the NWS to see more
accurately see tornados with their radar. I am not sure how accurate
this statement is. I am not sure how this affects the whole concept of
"weather spotters" nor how much difference this makes for all severe
storm warnings.
