At the 4th alarm in Boston this morning, the dispatcher was heard conducting PAR checks on Ch 1, Ch 2, Ch 3, and Ch 4 simultaneously. The dispatchers voice was heard on all 4 channels at the same time. Field units were answering on Ch 2 (the fireground channel for the fire)
PAR wording was - "Engine 7 do you have PAR?" - "Engine 7 has PAR minus the pump operator" - "OK Engine 7 you have PAR" At one point there was an emergency alarm activation. The signal came from 'Rescue 1 Alpha'. The dispatcher spoke to 'Rescue 1 Officer' to clear the situation. Sometimes the dispatcher could be heard transmitting on Ch 1 and 453.65 at the same time. C1 took command at 820 AM on Channel 1 839 AM report - heavy fire knocked down - still fire in the cockloft - shutting down all exterior lines - letting the building drain - will restart interior attack and do secondary search 850 AM approx - better get people out of 3rd floor, it is roaring again - 42 get out of the bld, not gonna tell you again - we are coming out Chief - lets go 906 AM - secondary search completed of floors 1,2 and 3 - still fire in the cockloft - cockloft not checked yet -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "massfire" group.
