Did the Sheriff spokesman really say "we regret that the other agency are all aholes"? Plymouth County runs the fire plane; and a courthouse; and the Registry of Deeds - the Sheriff Dept is controlled by the State - but the Sheriff is elected IIRC - but the Sheriff just runs 1 jail and runs 1 mutual aid comm center and has some detectives - there is no County DPW AFAIK - there is no County FD - there might be 1 County forest fire truck parked in some local fire station somewhere - the Sheriff does not do any road patrols - there are no County Schools and no County librarys Does local government in Massachusetts sound totally screwed up? ------------------------------ The fire plane has 1 pilot and 1 plane IIRC - and they are both about 70yo IIRC - "1-Oh" is the callsign - they might be flying today actually - good wx and maybe some wildfire danger today -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "massfire" group.
