here is a little more radio traffic from the Boston 3rd alarm - kinda
caught my attention

approx 735 AM - "Fire Alarm calling Ladder 4 Officer" - "all OK" or
"I'm OK" - "OK"

approx 736 AM or 737 AM - "Command to Fire Alarm, did you get in
contact with Ladder 4 Officer?" - "thats correct Chief" - (nothing
more)

That procedure might need some tightening up. Apparently Ladder 4
Officer hit his emergency button on his portable radio by mistake. But
the radio traffic was not overly informative. Perhaps the dispatcher
should have notified Command immediately after determining that Ladder
4 Officer was OK. And perhaps they need to be very careful to verify
that any emergency alarm from Ladder 4 Officer is only cancelled by
Ladder 4 Officer. If they ever get multiple emergency alarms at the
same time, which is very possible, they would need to confirm that
each and every one of the firefighters is OK or accounted for.
