Looking at old Town Reports - Arlington Mass - Part 2 - Response Times

1972 Annual Town Report - no mention of response times

1975 - no mention

1977 - average police response time to all calls in 1976 was 3.98
minutes - many times were missing - further analysis in the Spring of
1977 with more complete data showed an average of 3.16 minutes -
(dispatchers and patrol officers paid more attention to calling in and
recording arrival times)

1988 - no mention

1989 - no mention

1990 - no mention

1997 - no mention

1998 - no mention

1999 - no mention

2000 - no mention

2001 - no mention

2002 - no mention

2003 - no mention

2004 - no mention

2005 - no mention

2006 - no mention

2007 - no mention

2008 - no mention

2009 - no mention

2010 - ? no mention - (I am sure there was no mention - but I didnt
write that down in my notes - but I am too lazy to go look at the 2010
Annual Report again)

2011 - no mention

2012 - no mention

2013 - no mention

-------------------------------

2009 Arlington Financial Budget - FD average response time from 2006
to 2009 was 3 minutes 30 seconds

2014 Arlington Financial Budget - Community Safety - 2011 and 2012 -
average FD response time of 3 minutes

I dont think that either of these documents are still online to double
check that info - (unless they are on the FinCom website - maybe I
will check that out) - and we dont know the definition of "response
time" here

-----------------------------

In any case - the Annual Town Report never mentions response times.
Its taboo verboten blasphemy whatever.

My opinion - unless there are GPS trackers in all vehicles, you aint
never gonna get any good info - and for highrise blds, you will never
get good info unless you require the responders to report when they
make "patient contact"

Los Angeles FD, NFPA, and London UK FD have published big response
time reports recently. There are many different components of
"response times" - such as - "call answering time" - "call taking
time" - "call entry time" - "call allocation time" - "queing time" -
"alerting time" - "turnout time" - "travel time" - "entry time" - etc
etc etc
