I am trying to figure out the Cape Cod TRS again. 1. The Internet says that the primary control channels on Cape Cod are - 855.5375 for Zone 4 - 857.2125 for East Cape / Outer Cape - 853.6375 for Wellfleet
2. The FCC ULS says that - 855.5375 has Cape Cod repeaters at - Barnstable, Falmouth, Bourne, Sandwich, Truro, Mashpee, and Harwich 853.6375 has Cape Cod repeaters at - 297 Grass Hill Rd in Wellfleet 857.2125 has Cape Cod repeaters at - Barnstable, Falmouth, Bourne, Sandwich, Truro, Mashpee, Brewster, Yarmouth, and Rte 6 in Wellfleet There are no repeaters on these freqs in Plymouth County, Dukes County, nor Nantucket County. The closest repeater on 1 of these channels is 857.7125 at Fall River. 855.5375 and 857.2125 are used in the Boston area To recap - 855.5375 - 7 sites (but not Brewster, Yarmouth, or 2 Wellfleet sites) 853.6375 - 1 site at Wellfleet 857.7125 - 9 sites (but not Harwich site nor 2nd Wellfleet site) ------------------------------- What does this tell us? I have no idea. I guess it tells us that the FCC ULS info does not seem to match the Internet info. I just thought of something. What if skip from Boston to the Cape is real bad on 855.5375 and 857.2125. Will Cape Cod radios then search for and find 853.6375 as a clear Control Channel? The only other repeaters on 853.6375 are in Attleboro, Haverhill, Barre, Ashburnham, Wilbraham, and Warwick. They might all be fill in sites - and none are very close to Cape Cod. I reckon that further research is needed. One must look at the secondary control channels. One must. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "massfire" group.
