1005 AM - "612 Main St - possible basement fire - box to follow" Ladder 1 OK (apparently Ldr1 was already on the road) A1 asks if they are 'attached' to the call - take it - (A1 is private ambulance that covers Stoneham) caller said he was trying to heat pipe in basement - has smoke but no flame Ldr1 asks - do you still have him on the phone? - no, but we can make a quick call - never mind, just wondering if it got into the wall Engine 3 is on box is 362 - house is next to Spot Pond Texaco - 2 hydrants given Eng 3 to Ldr1 - do you want us to take the hydrant or go to front? - go right in and check it out - (apparently SOP is for E3 to go to hydrant and Ldr1 (the quint) to go to the front) (E3 must have been ahead of Ldr1) 1007 - E3 at scene - lite smoke showing L5 calls 3 times - L5 are you calling? 1008 - fire showing from basement - request 2nd alarm per L5 (Lieut 5) 1008 - A1 at scene - C5 in Command (C5 is Captain on Ldr 1)(Ldr 1 apparently just arrived) 1009 - C5 to Engine 3, charge the line - water on the way 1009 - Engine 3 to C5 - no reply 1009 - Melrose E2 on to cover station 1011 - Winchester E2 on to fire 1013 - L5 from C5, how you doing Robby? 1015 - Wakefield Eng 2 on to the fire 1017 - Reading Eng 2 (on to fire station) - ? Winchester e2 at scene - double 1018 - alarm from 25 Williams St received - Car 1 responding (Chief) - cover units will be sent 1018 - Wakefield Eng 2 requests orders - tanks and tools to front - (Wakfld Eng 2 at scene) 1020 - Car 1 at scene Williams St 1021 - Reading Eng 2 at HQ 1022 - "Fire Headquarters calling Car 1" - no reply - (?off duty member) 1022 - C5 says the fire is under control 1030 - 4 (offduty) men at HQ - stay there --------------------------- That was probably a $500,000 home saved - maybe $100,000 damages - ergo - $400K saved (sorta) All radio traffic was on this channel apparently - except for dispatcher to duspatcher traffic on 483.2875 (MetroFire channel) -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "massfire" group.
