More info about the Washington DC subway fire incident

http://www.statter911.com/2015/02/11/congress-heres-help-can-ask-right-questions-metro-safety-hearing/

You would think that a Chief Office of DCFD would have immediately asked
for a box alarm when the initial dispatch went out for 1 Engine to a subway
fire

Note - they messed up 3 dispatches in a row - with extremely slow dispatch
times - if they were trying to kill off a couple of hundred people, they
could not have done a better job

keywords - dispatcher malfeasance - dispatch screw up - dispatch screwup -
lack of accountability - lack of discipline - lack of esprit de corps -
lack of performance standards - lack of oversight - lack of human decency -
uncaring bureaucracy - toxic bureaucrats - life in the big city - no one
cares until 1,000 people die daily

Underfunding? Who is going to claim that DCFD is underfunded? How much do
you have to pay a dispatcher to insure that they send a full box alarm to a
report of smoke or fire in a subway? How much do you have to pay DCFD
Chiefs to listen to their radios? How much has the DCFD budget increased
over the last 20 years? 200%? 1000%? 2000%? 5000%?
