with no transponders on - NATO has moved fighters into eastern Europe
- 1 near miss with jetliner a few months ago - worse provocation since
Cold War - France has halted delivery of 2 helicopter carriers to
Russia - Russia has recently added several mobile ICBM platoons

US - working on weather radar for planes that can see features of
runways (lights alongside runways and approach light structures) - may
allow synthetic vision of landing approaches to 150 feet above the
ground

US - may revive anti ballistic missile design programs - need to
counter Russian hypersonic missiles - US may spend $1B

US - F35 is moving forward - 3 repair facilities being constructed in
Europe for F35s - Belgium and Netherlands might buy F35s for 2020s
