http://www.statter911.com/2015/04/07/arrival-video-radio-traffic-from-a-portsmouth-va-house-fire/

daytime house fire - fire from 2 windows in front - no exposures to
speak of - video and radio traffic

home is maybe 40 years old - probably is not lightweight construction - right?

2 seconds of water from deck gun - fire out

1 second of water from handline - fire out again

I think the comments are way off base

First priority - life safety - search the first floor (and maybe one
room on the 2nd floor) - have someone babysit the power line
immediately

Better still - knock down the fire from outside with 2 inch line, then
immediately go insides and do more fire attack and do SAR

Not grabbing the hydrant probably makes fire attack 1 minute quicker

Worrying about the pickup truck slows them down

IMHO

"Ladder 1 standby for possible RIT" - that is 6 words - "Ladder 1 RIT"
- that is 3 words

Engine 4 drives by as first due - but no Eng 4 in the radio - ????????
