453.90 R is apparently a simulcast of the Logan Airport Fire Department from the airport P25 800 Mhz TRS. The 453.90 repeater is apparently intended to allow mutual aid communications with City of Boston (and suburban) public safety units (who are primarily operating with UHF radios).
Listening to 453.90 R today around 8 AM - (apparently the first message was the dispatcher asking Command what response he wanted for an odor of burning in the Control Tower) Command - in what area? Dispatcher - in my area, 216 Command - make that a structural response then 1 minute later dispatcher - Eng 5, Ladder 1, and Rescue 1 are responding to 216 (? maybe T-16?) in the (Control) Tower for a odor of burning Command - Fire Command is also responding (the FD shift commander) Command - Fire Command at scene, Engine 1 and Rescue 1 go to floor 16, Ladder 1 standby at the base of the Control tower, Engine 1 prepare to charge the system, Fire Alarm confirm the location Dispatcher - my floor, floor 16 Command - Command to Engine 1, have the camera? - yes we do Engine 1 - Engine 1 to Command, we have a slight smell of electrical burning on floor 16 (later there was a report of 1 ill employee being checked by Ladder 1 outside) -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "massfire" group.
