154.22 radio traffic heard today at approx 1040 AM

"standby for an EMS box"

"32 Canterbury Trail"

nothing else heard

male dispatcher

scratchy a little - almost sounded like mobile flutter - scratchyness
went up and down a little

-----------------------

My guess is - a Black Hawk was flying around somewhere, and the radio
signal bounced off the helo and into my apartment

I think that 154.22 was Windham Maine

Maybe someone could do the math. If the helo was at 1,000 feet - and
if Windham Maine is 100 miles away - what kind of bounce would that
be? I suppose we need to know exactly where the helo was at the time.
But in general, if the helo was within 25 miles of me - would that be
a good angle for a reflection off the helo?

I did not hear any helo in the area. Maybe it was actually a jetliner
that was much higher that gave me the reflected signal.

Maybe there was some entirely other reason that this message popped in
for just 10 seconds.

(IIRC the military recently started to use this reflection idea for
tracking cruise missiles)
