774.61875 - TX NAC 293 - RX NAC F7E recommended landing zone (LZ) channel for 700 Mhz band
per the new NIFOG - national interoperability field operations guide ================ extraneous reading material follows I am not sure where that recommendation comes from this is a direct channel - actually it is the base side of an air to ground pair I assume that this would be the channel that any helo landing at an emergency scene would use to talk to the LZ manager / controller / boss / chief / commander on the ground - it probably is not intended to be the channel that people would use to talk to a helo that has already landed at a LZ - although it could probably be used for that also - as long as the ground unit is not using a base station - NIFOG talks about "ground based stations" as opposed to "base stations" - actually, maybe they could use a base station - seems the only limitations on the channel are - no more than 2 watts for aircraft - no more than 400 meters above terra firma for the aircraft - so LAFD could put in a bunch of base stations on this freq to maintain comms with their helos that have landed at a LZ - that would free up one of their tac channels to handle Towering Inferno 2016 -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "massfire" group.
