I think I have finally figured out the deal in southern Washington County in Rhode Island
Westerly Dispatch (run by Westerly Ambulance) dispatches fire and ambulance for 4 towns None of the towns have a "town wide FD" - all of the towns are served by multiple fire districts - some of the fire districts serve more than 1 town - some of the fire districts have stations in more than 1 town - some fire districts dont have any fire stations (that are served by adjacent fire districts) It took a while - but I think I figured things out First - lets look at where the fire stations are at Town of Westerly Westerly Fire District - 2 stations Bradford Fire District - 1 station Misquanemet Fire District - 1 station Watch Hill Fire District - 1 station Dunns Corner Fire District - 2 stations (1 is in Charlestown) Town of Charlestown Charlestown Fire District - 2 stations Dunns Corner Fire District - 2 stations (1 is in Westerly) Town of Richmond Richmond / Carolina Fire District - 3 stations Hope Valley Fire District - 2 stations (1 station is in Hopkinton) Town of Hopkinton Ashaway Fire District - 1 station Hope Valley Fire District - 2 stations ( 1 is in Richmond) Got that? ( I will spare you the trauma of listing which stations cover which areas - it gets more complicated yet!)
