to "express a gene" basically means to "turn a gene on or off"

I look at 'genes' like the "Moes" of the body - Moe clunks Curly and
Larrys heads together - genes bring various molecules together - its
all the same - the 'genes' are the "conductors of the molecular
orchestra"

methylation = to stick a 'methyl' group on a molecule

"a methyl group" I think is CHO3 or something - its fairly common in
the body - and I think that methylation is a fairly common biological
process

all in all - this article does not say very much - we just finding out
that rheumatoid arthritis is not just one disease - like I think we
are finding out that cancer is not just one disease

science marches forward - very slowly
