Mayor Walsh says no to long guns for cops
(Boston has 1 or 2 gun cars on duty - I think that is the long gun
cars - apparently no one else has long guns except the on call SWAT
guys) - but I may be way off on this - maybe some sergeants carry long
guns
Boston only has 2 ranks on normal patrol - cops and sergeants ('patrol
supervisors') - no one above that is on normal patrol - except maybe
some of the Yankee command staff (superintendants) - captains usually
are in the stations AFAIK - and I dont even know if they have
Lieutenants or not
