CDA apparently stands for Community Development Agency CDBG money cannot be spent on FD trucks usually AFAIK - CDBG money comes from the feds to poor towns (like Arlington MA - LOL) - Community Development Block Grant = pork barrel -------------------------------------- lets look at the money in this deal usually a FD goes out and buys a truck; and the city pays for it - either in cold hard cash or with a loan - its pretty straight forward in this Fall River deal - apparently the feds will guarantee a loan from some bank to the City of Fall River - and then Fall River will buy the equipment - then Fall River will put money onto the Community Development Agency budget and the CDA will pay back the bank something tells me that the number of bureaucrats living off this deal has jumped from 25 to 50 someone will say - Fall River saved $100,000 in interest - they wont mention the extra $150K in hackerama costs CDA will repay the loans over 20 years - interesting - I think that these types of loans are usually on the city books for 10 years - so they dont end up paying 10 extra years on a truck that fell apart after 10 years ladders will cost $1.2 million each ????????? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "massfire" group.
