The fundamentals of wildfire control There are 3 primary control tactics
A. suppress the fire very quickly - attack the fire in 5 to 20 minutes - prevent the fire spreading beyond maybe 1 acre B. keep fire away from homes - flood a neighborhood with engines and knock down flames as they approach homes C. after the fire front has passed thru a neighborhood, maintain enough engines in the neighborhood to control any building fires that sprout to life ================= Yes - that is very simplistic - but it might be useful for ICs to keep these 3 tactics in mind In fact - it might be useful to have 3 sectors on every wildfire - direct attack + interface protection + followup protection -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "massfire" group.
