by end of the year

======================

rant follows LOL - kinda a rant

this will happen - fire truck pulls up at bld fire - Google car sees
truck parking and thinks "fine lets just roar on past" - fire fighter
hops out of cab - smoosh

a human would know that the firemen are getting out of the truck in a
hurry - the stupid car knows nothing

[I am exaggerating just a little here - any driver that just parked
could hop out of the vehicle immediately - but the parker should look
first before hopping out - but a FF in a hurry might not]

or

fire truck pulls out of station and blows siren - Google car stupidly
thinks - trucks dont come out of blds - "fine lets just roar past" -
smoosh

actually - that is a good question - lets say we are Huntington Ave
passing Engine 37 House - it is a 2 lane roadway going Eastbound - you
could have trolleys approaching on the left from front and back - and
you could have a fire truck pulling out into the right lane - what is
the stupid car going to do? the difference between the fire truck
pulling out into the right lane and pulling out into the left lane can
be a matter of just 1 foot - is the dumb car going to slam on the
brakes or try to beat the fire truck? the fire truck thinks he has the
right of way - the dumb car thinks that he has the right of way - the
dumb car has no idea if the fire truck is going to pull into the right
lane or the left lane - if the left lane is clear ahead, a human
driver would assume that the fire truck is going to take the left lane
- will the dumb car know that? can the dumb car detect a siren or
flashing lights? (I probably asked that before)
