460.80 - maybe around noon or 1 PM - some helo was talking to someone - I think it was Med 4 at Lawrence Hospital - I heard both parties loud and clear, but it sure sounded like simplex ops on 460.80 - (not repeaterized ops in other words) - 465.80 was not being monitored here so I dont really know if I heard repeater or simplex ops
Also - I got some loud digital traffic again on 460.80 today but I think it was intermod. Which is interesting. How does a digital signal intermod with an analog signal? Could it be a digital data signal that was modulating an analog carrier wave? (like the old computer dial up modems perhaps?) In any case IIRC what I heard (on a receiver set up to decode analog FM traffic) was a loud rushing / buzzing noise and a voice at the same time - both coming over 460.80 for a short period - maybe 3 seconds - and then both went away at the same time - yeah must have been "2nd order intermodulation" -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "massfire" group.
