radio operators guide - radio handbook - radio frequency directory -

for NorthEast Region - New England and beyond

"CAP GUARD" is to be monitored at all times

I wonder if other CAP Regions have different PLs on their air to air
channels? that could make life easier or more difficult or whatever

CAP Guard 150.225 vs Forest Service Guard 168.625 vs VHF Air Guard 121.50

Marine Channel 16 156.80 is also a Guard channel - plus maybe Marine
Ch 12 and ? 6 also

"Guard" channels are channels that have a listening mandate - certan
people are required to monitor the channel continously in certain
situations

maybe 155.34 or 155.28 are guard channels for certain hospitals in
certain states per state EMS regulations

some states require 154.28 in fire truck radios if the truck receives
state fuding or if the truck responds to statewide activations - IIRC
- Oregon requires 154.28 - Washington 153.83 - Louisiana 154.28 (for
state funded units IIRC) - maybe CA has some 'required' (vs
'suggested') fire channels also - Montana has a mutual aid radio test
for radio operators so maybe they have required channels also - but of
course, requiring the freq be in the radio is not exactly the same as
requiring someone to listen to the channel
