For the operation of the military division, including the offices of the adjutant general and state quartermaster, the operation of the armories, the Camp Curtis Guild rifle range and certain national guard aviation facilities; provided, that notwithstanding chapter 30 of the General Laws, certain military personnel in the military division may be paid salaries according to military pay grades; provided further, that the division may expend funds appropriated in this item for the administration of budgetary, procurement, fiscal, human resources, payroll and other administrative services;
provided further, that the adjutant general shall maintain a roster of Massachusetts veterans as directed by section 15 of chapter 33 of the General Laws; and provided further, that not less than $35,000 shall be expended for the Massachusetts Veterans Oral History Project to be conducted by Home of the Brave, Inc., in conjunction with the Massachusetts National Guard Museum and Archives....... $9,691,590 8700-1140.. For the military division, which may expend for the costs of national guard missions and division operations not more than $600,000 from fees charged for the nonmilitary rental or use of armories and from reimbursements generated by national guard missions; provided, that for the purpose of accommodating timing discrepancies between the receipt of retained revenues and related expenditures, the department may incur expenses and the comptroller may certify for payment amounts not to exceed the lower of this authorization or the most recent revenue estimate as reported in the state accounting system......................................................... $600,000 8700-1150.. For reimbursement of the costs of the national guard tuition and fee waivers under section 19 of chapter 15A of the General Laws; provided, that no funds shall be distributed from this item before certification by the state universities, community colleges and the University of Massachusetts of the actual amount of tuition and fees waived for national guard members attending public institutions of higher education under said section 19 of said chapter 15A that would otherwise have been retained by the campuses according to procedures and regulations promulgated by the military division; and provided further, that funds from this item may be expended for the reimbursement of the tuition and fees waived for classes taken during the summer months...................................... $3,637,500 8700-1160..
