MassPort FD covers Logan International Airport in Boston listening to them via 453.90R over the last couple of days - this is what we have dredged up
Rescue 1 is the primary responder to EMS calls - if Rescue 1 is not available, then Engine 1 or Ladder 1 is sent Possibly - if Rescue 1 is out of service for mechanical reasons - then Eng 1 is primary for EMS calls on rampside (airfield side) and Ladder 1 is primary for EMS on streetside Responding to rampside calls - units leave HQ and drive directly onto ramps, aprons, taxiways, runways etc afaik Responding to streetside calls - HQ units turn left out of HQ - go thru south security gate onto Harborside Drive fire calls in the terminals and airport buildings are responded to by Engine 1 + Ladder 1 + Rescue 1 + C5 - (such as pull station activation or odor of something burning) it seems that mention was heard of Engine 5 on the fire calls - but I am not sure about that - there is no Engine 5 on the radio tests If E1 / L1 / R1 are busy, then E17 handles EMS calls in the terminals The lineup (by station) is - HQ - C5 (duty chief) + E1 with 3 people + L1 with 3 people + R1 with 2 people + E17 with 2 peoples + E3 with 2 peoples Sta 2 - E21 with 2 people and E23 with 2 peoples the staffed crash trucks are E17 + ? E3 + E21 + E23 fire calls in the terminals (the piers maybe) are apparently approached from rampside (airfield side) - ems calls are probably the same HQ would take the streetside approach for incidents at the 'front' of terminals or on the terminal roadways and parking lots probably all units respond to Alerts 1 + 2 + 3 - by 'all units' we mean all "staffed units" - which would be - Marine 32 or 31 + E1 + E3 + E17 + E21 + E23 + L1 + R1 + C5 - maybe the Stair Truck goes for large aircraft - Foam 1 and HazMat 1 do not seem to respond regularly to calls Foam 1 - is it possible they have a mobile radio on a foam trailer? - or maybe they have a pickup truck dedicated to hauling the foam trailer? - do they still have a foam trailer? - I thought that was a MetroFire asset? so sayeth us all -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "massfire" group.
