Type 3 Exclusive use Helicopters

The Forest Service (FS) Eastern Region has established a Type 3
Exclusive Use Helicopter Program for the 2018 operating period. The
program provides regional guidelines for this shared resource between
all Eastern Region National Forests. The two Exclusive Use Type 3
helicopters are contracted for initial attack, support of wildland
fire suppression, and prescribe fire activities. The helicopters are
hosted by the National Forests listed below. These units provide
administrative management support for the two helicopter contracts.

If Massachusetts had needed a wildfire helo - maybe these giys would
have responded - they are the closest helos that meet USFS guidelines
- but more realistically - Massachusetts has agreements with Nat Guard
and State Police for water drops probably - but beyond that - if State
Forestry had cntacted NE Dispatch at Campton NH - they would either
get a USFS "call when needed" helo or call Milwaukee / Eastern
Geographical Area Coord Center - and Milwaukee surely would have sent
the MO helo or the IL helo
 - surely LOL
