average in usa - 33%

33% seems a bit high to me - considering that most guns are in rural
areas and population density is low there

maybe there are some big cities with high gun ownership rates - maybe
Houston, San Antonio, Austin, New Orleans, etc

and then there are illegal guns - which are probably much more common
in urban areas
