bottom line - for my own safety - I want to be able to hear public safety agencies handling emergencies in my area - I want to know what is going on in real time - not 5, 15, 45 minutes later there is nothing stopping every agency from putting live scanner audio on their website there are no studies that I know of that show that encryption makes any community (nor any first responder) any safer very little personal info goes over radios in any well run agency - and backup communications methods are available - and special encrypted channels can be set aside for top secret info and AFAIK there are laws against interfering at emergency scenes so if officer safety and public privacy issues are not the real reason for encryption - what is? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "massfire" group.
