listening to the channel (461.45 PL 107.3) for a while - we can confirm that Boston Med Flight is using this radio channel for dispatch of Boston MedFlight helicopters - and for enroute comms with helicopters - and for coordination of all medevac helicopters that are operating in and out of the Boston area - such as DHART and LifeStar and Worcester LifeFlight
messages heard include - switching over to CMED - switching to UTAC 41 direct - etc - apparently the aircraft typically have just 1 UHF radio both the helicopters and the dispatcher are transmitting PL 107.2 - have heard both with my own 2 ears via my radio - unknown if any other PLs are used - such as on Cape Cod or in Plymouth County - typically we only seem to hear the helicopters if they are within 30 miles and to the west or north pilots are IDed as "Med 13 Pilot" or "Med 1 Pilot" etc dispatcher IDs as "Ops" iirc -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "massfire" group.
