based on info at Radio reference

State of New York / New York State (NYS)

Department of Conservation (DEC)

159.435 R - Forest Rangers - wildfires + wilderness SAR + enforcement
of state forestry laws

159.225 R - Police / game wardens / conservation and environmental issues

172.275 R - DEC police on Long Island - (input is on 171 mhz iirc)

159.30 R - flood control in central NY

159.33 R - some areas

159.465 R - some areas

possibly there are 4 input channels at 151 mhz - possibly these 4
channels are also used as direct / simplex / short range / car to car
channels

ther repeaters are grouped geographically with different output PLs in
different regions - for example - 159.435 repeaters in the albany area
might have pl 77.0 on the output - 159.435 repeaters in the Boonville
area might have pl 123.0 on the output - 159.435 repeaters in the
Saranac area might have pl 156.7 on the output - (just pulling PLs out
of thin air here)

anyone have better info?

what do they use for air to ground channels? if any
