lets spot the logical fallacies 1. exactly what is the differences between the airport fire station and the oak bluffs fire station? the airport fire station needs a little more foam 2, cant have year round fire crew - why not? only need 1 guy on duty 24/7 - backed up by ops guys - and thats probably what they do anyhow - they probably have 2 or 3 ops guys on duty 24/7 - and 1 of them hangs out in a fire bunk 3. why doesnt the airport pay for their own dam fire station? why does someone in california have to pay for it? 4. damn - the closest volunteer fire station is 3 miles away - all of those industrial buildings near the airport are essentially unprotected - as are all of the airport buildings 5. if the airport ops guys can do fueling and plowing and crash - can they also do police and EMS? that would make them SUPER PSOs!!!!! 6. TSA are usually unarmed - but Customs are armed - no idea who provides security at this airport - maybe Sheriff - but they only have 2 people probably 7. bottom line - imho - there needs to be at least 1 structural / arff / EMT / firefighter here 24/7 - they need to be tasked with responding to all fire and ems calls on and off the airport - there needs to be 1 fire rig set up for structural firefighting also - maybe there already is - security probably needs to be done by at least 1 armed person 24/7 also - the plowing and fueling probably needs to be done by a 3rd person - this is a grand total of 3 people that can be jointly funded by airport + county + towns + TSA + Customs + FAA + airlines + etc even better would be 3 armed people 24/7 who could handle all public safety functions plus plowing plus fueling - in fact - would be willing to bet that half of the ops staff is already firearm and EMS trained blah blah blah blah blah -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "massfire" group.
