regarding addresses of locations "There are many, many situations in Massachusetts where these (addressing) rules are not being followed. These situations are a significant obstacle to implementing Next Generation 911 and to public safety in general."
https://www.mass.gov/info-details/massgis-and-nextgen-911 some of the fine points of 911 addressing =================== afaik - there are 351 cities and towns in massachusetts - there are no unincorporated areas (except for maybe 1 or 2 orphan offshore islands that might actually belong to Spain or something crazy like that) - each municipality has its own addressing scheme - the city of boston addresses go back 100s of years and there are maybe 10 Main Streets in Boston - but in general - odd numbers are on 1 side of the street - even numbers are on the other side of the street - numbers raise numerically / sequentially (they dont hop around too much in other words) it is very possible that 451 northborough street in southborough is next door to 527 southborough street in northborough - but most people realize that is what happens when you hit a municipal border in Massachusetts - and most/all main streets have big signs at the community borders -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "massfire" group.
