boston channel 1 is quiet these days apparently all 'on scene' messages are being done via mobile data terminal or via gps
they still beep out the transmitted boxes on channel 1 - and the recalls they still assign Channel 2 as the primary fireground channel ===================== at 1205 pm today box 6263 was transmitted for an address in east boston - Eng 39 from south boston was the RIT - apparently Eng 2 and Ladder 18 from South Boston went to cover East Boston stations on the first alarm - which probably means that an engine and ladder was moved up to south boston on the first alarm also - maybe not - they were not cancelled via radio if they were sent therefore - the box in east boston caused the movement of approx 5 or 6 engines plus 3 or 4 ladders plus 1 rescue plus maybe 2 chiefs they still use the terminology "Code C" to slow down units responding to incidents ======================= also heard today - 26 to 26 open up - 26 open up - meet me out front - OK therefore we know that Ladder Companies still call one of their portables the 'Open Up' portable -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "massfire" group.
