from level 2 to level 3

looks like they cant keep a surgeon inhouse 24/7 so they are switching
to oncall coverage

they are 80 air miles east of pittsburgh - and 80 air miles nw of
harrisburg - unknown if any other trauma centers are in the area

zerg90 medevac map -

there is a medevac helo based at altoona

there is a VA hospital in altoona - but they dont seem to have an ER -
just an urgent care - so maybe 1 rn or 1 PA on duty days

10 air miles to south is small hospital at roaring springs with an ER
- and there is another small hospital with an ER 6 air miles to north
at tyronne

houston - I think we spotted the problem - paying for 3 ERs - when
they probably only need one in the area - so they were paying for 3
docs and 1 surgeon on duty 24/7 - if they merge all 3 EDs they can
have 2 MDs and 2 surgeons on duty 24/7

this country is so messed up

unless they are staffing the small EDs with just a PA - maybe a PA
makes 100K and a MD makes 200K - so effectively they can pay for 3 MD
on duty 24/7 - maybe not 4 MD - assuming that budgets dont change
