gotta say - they didnt seem to have any luck slowing it down until the helo started to hit it per comment - dont use plows since they wreck the land ish maybe more cafs was needed - or heavy duty retardant in the hose lines fire attack - putting wet stuff on the red stuff - we never saw them do an effective knockdown of a flame front with a deck gun or a foam gun or a handline - maybe they did it but we didnt see it on this video - and we were watching pretty closely for it offroading with the tankers - pretty sure the tankers are 4X4 terminology - pumper is same as us type 1 or 2 - tankers are the wildfire rigs - usually the paid guys staff the pumpers and the volunteers staff the tankers note - 1 volunteer with a scba - more are being introduced for the volunteers - per comment to recap - the basic Australia scheme is - paid firefighters using city pumpers tackle fires in the cities and villages - volunteers using the 4X4 tankers handle the wildfires outside the citys and villages note - the 4X4 tanks are every bit as big as the city pumpers - kust saying -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "massfire" group.
