note - the lafd helos were already in the air when the 2nd fire started - the first fire went under control and the helos were immediately diverted to the palisades fires
maybe the lafd helos arrived in 5 minutes at the palisades fire but their normal response time from van nuys airport would have been 10 minutes what does that tell us? 1. maybe someone thought that the helos would get tied up at the first fire - and that would have slowed their response to the Palisades Fire 2. if the helos had returned to Van Nuys and shut down their rotors - would that have caused a 10 to 20 minute delay in re-launching ? or can those helos relaunch immediately after a shutdown? 3. did the helos realize that they were 'off script' and they intentionally missed with their drops? 4. was there any coordination between those helos and the ground units at the very beginning of the fire? we know that Fire 4 was having trouble reaching any IC - and we know that LAC E69 and E70 were talking about setting up a helispot - and we know that LAFD had their own helispot set up somewhere - unknwon where we are rambling - this is disjointed - there are many angles on this puzzle -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "massfire" group.
