it finally dawned on me how these guys operate pagers go off - or the telephone rings - 1 paid guy is at the station 24/7 - paid guy pulls the engine onto the ramp and waits for 3 minutes - if any other firefighters show up at the station - they either ride on the pumper or they take the mini rescue or the tanker each station has a total of 3 paid guys and 3 vols this is how they cover an area larger than new england with only 5 stations and 15 paid guys and 15 vols average response time might be 1 hour because the average run is 15 miles dont think we have ever seen any response time statistics for the Navajo Nation - neither police nor fire nor ambo -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "massfire" group.
