An end to anaphylaxis? Old drug shows new potential

In their study, the research team used mice – all bred with the
antibody. When the team looked deeper at their genetic structures,
they identified a specific pathway that regulates how much peanut gets
absorbed in the gut and ultimately reaches the blood stream. Then they
applied an already known asthma drug – zileuton — that appeared to
quickly block an allergic reaction. The next step is to try it with
humans.
