How A Surveyor Locates Your Property Lines from 3 years ago
https://youtu.be/MGpVJE8fc_A?si=D0z5oWnRHIso0if5 bottom line is - starting at the atlantic ocean - surveyors have plotted out every square inch of land to the pacific coast - you mark the starting point then break out your protractor and tape measure and set a 2nd point - and just going - probably in a square grid pattern more or less its like drawing any map and setting up a travel route - you start at 1 spot - go to a 2nd spot - then go to a third spot - and then on and on - then chain of interconnected spots ends up in a total map in the end of the entire country maybe we can give an example A ----------- B ! ! ! C there are 2 ways to describe a trip from point A to point B 1. from A go due east 1 mile to point B then go due south for 1 mile to point C 2. from point A go 'square root of 2' miles to southeast to get to point C you can use these 2 different calculations to cross check your work any time you are trying to figure out locations and this is essentially what this surveyor was doing when he was talking about 'recalculating' the boundary markers - maybe - pretty sure - been a long time since we studied any of this -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "massfire" group.
