some homes 80k some 160k - why? depends who owns the land under the home =============================== It honestly makes more sense for snowbirds to lot rent, you can’t get a homestead exemption on a second home so the taxes if you own the land are insane. As for people bashing these modular homes, talk to home inspectors they will tell you a good manufactured home is more solid then the “new” homes going up DH Horton etc do your research and learn what best fits your lifestyle choice. Crooked companies are buying these parks, jacking up lot rents to insane amounts, forcing many residents to have to just abandon their homes because they can't afford to move them. Then they park claims them as abandoned and resells them. It's a huge scam that is going on all over the country. People are losing their homes and all the $$ they paid for and have put into them. Plus, if the home is financed, they will have a foreclosure on their record. It's disgusting! On home number two you forgot the pass-through tax, which is tantamount to being your property taxes on the land, that the owners of the land are passing on to you. You can read all about it under the 723 Florida Statutes, that dictates the rules and laws for mobile home parks that rent land. So once you add that pass-through tax you're actually paying more for where you rent the land, than if you purchased your home with land. But again, an HOA can steal your home out from under you too, just like a park owner can. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "massfire" group.
