45 minute video fire fighting drill at 18:00 - smoke maska and hoods - maybe air hoses also nuke powered sub with nuke missiles ======================= a comment at yt Be careful of your wording. The Officer of the Deck on a submarine is NEVER "in command". That responsibility rests with the Captain alone...always. That said, the Officer of the Deck IS temporarily the direct representative of the Commanding Officer and is reportable ONLY to him in the chain of command. EVERY other crew member reports to the Officer of the Deck in their role regarding ship operations, safety and security - even those who outrank him. (maybe a 'temporary commander" ish) - the FDs have 'shift commanders" - seemingly more or less the same thing they do 70 day tours not sure what the work schedule is onboard exactly but they did say that 1/3 of the crew is always asleep - which sounds like they work 8 hour shifts - maybe they have 2 hours "off" on every shift for a 6 hour work tour -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "massfire" group.
