the C2 (duty chief) tells the responding units whether he wants them to switch to Channel 2 or not
actually not exactly sure what radio channel they use for firescene ops - the dispatcher probably does not have access to the fireground channel whatever it is iirc - medford fd has 2 of their own mobile channels on UHF - unknown if either is used for fg ops and there are possibly 2 metrofire fg channels they can also use - the names should be - metrofire north fg alpha and metrofire north FG bravo they can probably also use metrofire central fireground alpha and metrofire central fireground bravo and metrofire south fg (?alpha or bravo?) medford seems to be using multi names for their channel 2 - all just slightly different - so its hard to decipher what they are exactly doing in years past medford fd used metrofire central fg iirc - maybe shared with several nearby FDs - such as malden and melrose and everett and maybe even chelsea this might go back to shared use of 153.83 by those FDs starting in the 1970s we are close enough to medford to possibly catch them on their FG channel if they ever use it on the west side of the city - we will keep our ears open -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "massfire" group.
