if los angeles city lost all of their repeaters could they send 1 person with a HT to the Hollywood sign and have radio coverage for half of the city?
does la have direct buttons on their radios? do they have any direct channels that are pre-designated as dispatch channels? the plan could be very simple - all pd units switch to 453.2125 direct for dispatch - all fire and ems units switch to 453.4625 direct for dispatch - put 1 person at the 911 telephone office with a HT - put 1 person at the Hollywood sign with a HT - problem solved pretty sure you can drive vehicles up to the hollyood sign - action kid showed us that on YT about 3 years ago there is probably a fire station on mulholland drive that has great radio coverage also pretty sure that cars can drive up to castro peak and oat mtn also - maybe people can walk up to top of san pedro hill by Port of LA pretty sure that LAFD disaster radio plan has the BCs running nets on the tac channels - not sure if they use simplex or not - not sure if they drive to high spots have not heard anyone in the boston area run radio tests like this in 50 years -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "massfire" group.
