the county 911 center is the only PSAP in sullivan county - therefore 99% of the action is heard on their radio channels radio reference basically shows 3 fire/ems channels plus 2 police channels plus 4 local police channels plus 1 county dpw channel if you look thru the fcc licenses - you will find approx 1 dozen more local channels - many seem to be dpw channels we suspect that since the FDs only have 1 repeater channel - that if a major wildfire breaks out - there might be alot of fire radio traffic on the local dpw channels we ned to check further - first we need a list of all the dpw garages - then we need to find radio channels for each - might take a while there are approx 40 fire departments - all but 3 or 4 have just 1 station - there might be just 6 fulltime firemen in the entire county there are approx 15 ambulance services - some have gone private - but there are still several volunteer ambulance services hatzolah might have 15 ambulances in the county also - scattered around at various sites maybe - maybe all on 160.20 and 160.28 - they are all volunteers also - not sure how much they interact with the local 911 agencies - the county 911 center had 2000 spansih calls in 2024 but zero hebrew calls (see the language line info in the 2024 county annual report) -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "massfire" group.
